Privacy Policy — Quiet
Last updated: 11 September 2026
Quiet is a daily companion app for iPhone, made by Pixie ("we", "us"). This policy explains what Quiet collects, why, and what control you have over it. Quiet is a separate app from Pixie for Android, which has its own privacy policy.
1. The Short Version
Quiet is built to hold as little of your data as it can. Your day — sequences, tasks and alarms — lives on your iPhone. Everything the AI planner does happens on your device. We run no analytics, no advertising, and no cross-app tracking, and we never sell your data.
2. What We Collect
- Your account: when you sign in with Apple, we receive the anonymous account identifier Apple issues for Quiet, and — only the first time, and only if you choose to share it — your name. We do not ask Apple for your email address, so we never receive it. If you continue without an account, we create an anonymous identifier instead, which is not linked to you personally.
- Your name: the name you type during setup, or the one you shared via Apple. It is shown to you in the app and to friends you connect with.
- Your day: sequences, tasks, alarms and notes are stored on your iPhone and mirrored to your account in Google Firestore, so they survive reinstalling the app or moving to a new device.
- Friends and sharing: if you use the friends feature, we store a short friend code, your display name, and the connections you accept. Your display name and friend code are readable by anyone who enters your code — that is how being added works. When you share a task, its title and time become visible to the friend you share it with, and only after they accept.
- Location: with your permission, Quiet uses your approximate location to show today's weather. The coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to fetch a forecast; they are not stored on our servers. If you set a location-based alarm, Quiet may use your location in the background — that check happens on your device, and the location is not transmitted anywhere.
- Photos: photos you place in a photo widget are read with your permission and stored only on your iPhone. They are never uploaded.
- Purchases: Quiet Premium is sold through Apple. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card details. We store only whether your account is on the free or premium tier.
3. What We Do Not Collect
Quiet contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. We do not build advertising profiles, do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
4. The AI Planner
Text you write into the AI day planner is processed by Apple's on-device foundation model, on your iPhone. It is not sent to us, to Apple, or to any other server, and it is not used to train any model.
5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Art. 6)
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): running your account, syncing your day, and delivering features you asked for.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): location, photos and notifications, each requested separately by iOS and withdrawable at any time in the Settings app.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): keeping the service working and secure, where this does not override your rights.
6. Who Else Processes Your Data
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore): hosts your account and the data described above, on our behalf.
- Open-Meteo: receives approximate coordinates to return a forecast.
- GNews: supplies the news headlines; it receives no information about you.
- Apple: provides Sign in with Apple and processes App Store purchases under its own privacy policy.
7. International Data Transfers
Data held in Google Firebase, operated by Google LLC (USA), may be processed outside the EU/EEA. Those transfers are carried out under the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. For details, see Google's Data Processing Addendum at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
8. Data Storage & Retention
Your data stays for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes it from Firestore immediately; residual copies disappear from backups within 30 days. Data stored only on your iPhone is removed when you delete the app.
9. Your GDPR Rights
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (right to erasure) — use "Delete Account" in the app's Settings.
- Restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time.
- Data portability — contact us and we will send you a copy of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app options or contact us at pixiedevelopers@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority — in the Czech Republic, the Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů.
10. Data Deletion
You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, under Settings. This removes your schedule, public profile, friend code, friendships, shared tasks and tier from Firestore immediately, along with everything stored on your iPhone; residual backups are purged within 30 days. An active Premium subscription is billed by Apple and is not cancelled by deleting your account — cancel it in the Settings app under your Apple ID.
11. Children
Quiet is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and note the change in the app before the change takes effect.
